Teserra saves everything you find, images, RAW, video, fonts, screenshots, links and articles, into ordinary folders on your Mac, with a small text file next to each item for its title and tags. Agent-ready, locally: Teserra runs a local MCP server (stdio/HTTP on your own Mac, nothing in the cloud), so Claude Code or Cursor can search the library, pull contact sheets of a collection, read items, and set tags, ratings and collections. Write access is opt-in and every change is undoable in the app. Search by describing what you remember, with a CLIP model running on your Mac. No account, no API key. $29 once, 14-day free trial. macOS 12+, Apple Silicon.
Problem it solves
Visual references end up scattered across Downloads, screenshots, browser tabs and apps that lock them in their own database. When the app changes or dies, the collection goes with it, and you can never find that one image again.
How it's different
Your files stay ordinary files in your own folders, with tags in a text file beside each one. Delete the app, keep everything. Search by description runs on your Mac with no account. A local MCP server opens the library to your agents. $29 once, no subscription.

From the maker
Most image libraries keep your files inside their own database. If the app changes direction or shuts down, your collection is stuck there. I wanted the opposite: plain folders you can open with anything, today or in ten years. So Teserra stores every image, video, font and web clip as an ordinary file, with a small text file beside it for tags and source. Search by description runs on your Mac, no account. The MCP server came naturally: once the library is plain files plus a local index, letting Claude Code read and tag it was a small step. Changes are opt-in and undoable. Built solo on evenings and weekends, Tauri + Rust + React. Feedback very welcome.
